According to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is developing its own smart watch. If that rumor turns out to be true, Microsoft will become the fourth corporation that is likely to enter the field of smart watch, after Apple, Samsung and Google. At the same time, this may be the hottest wearable devices in the present time, except Google Glass.
It is said that Microsoft has had such similar project – SPOT (Smart Personal Object Technology) since 2004, but it was stopped in the year of 2008. The project allowed its users to send instant message through Windows Messenger. What’s more, it provided other information such as news, stock and weather.
PC sales have been on a steady decline, as mobility trumps stability. Meanwhile, Microsoft seems to begin its plan in mobile. And not long ago, there was even Microsoft news showed that Microsoft would launch its 7 inch tablet.
It is actually not surprising for us to read this news. Although Microsoft has occupied the 90% market share in the PC and last year it launched its newest OS – Windows 8, much of the Windows 8 users seem to have a bad impression on it, some of them even complaint that Windows 8 is a dud and there are a lot of bugs on it. Meanwhile, as the impact of tablet and mobile phone to PC, Microsoft actually can’t miss the next tendency. And this time the smart watch is no doubt to be an advanced plan.
Some of the users may guess whether the watch is a tendency or not, because some of us have not used the watch for a long time, some of us use the mobile phone to replace the watch. However, I think this kind of smart watch will do have its market. And in the effect of Google Glass we can guess it will be the world of intellectual product in the future. Therefore, let’s just look forward to the smart watch of Microsoft.
